Ernest has a double who's in jail. So through a mix up the two switch places and the double ends up in Erenst's shoes while the real Ernest ends up in one of the strangest jails. Ernest's cellmates are Mr. T and white Mr. T. The Jail is a technicolor disco and all the cops are decked out in pink cop uniforms that must have inspired the cops in Marylin Manson's music video Dope Nose.
I laughed at this movie alot more then when Ernest went to camp. Ernest is alot funnier and its fun to see him play the rough and tough double.

The biggest joy and surprise of the movie was that this movie does not end the way you think it does. Almost every movie or TV show that features a plot where a character has a double or clone that looks exactly like them almost always ends the same way. The two of them end up standing next to each other and saying in unison "I'm the real one...No I am...He's the impostor." When it became clear there was a double I was so bummed because I figured this was how the movie was going to end. Thankfully though it doesn't and instead ends in more of an Ernest fashion.
Judgement Sentence: This is the Ernest I remember.
